Enjoy Healthy IVF Pregnancy at Indira IVF Clinic
Infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for at least a year for most people and six months for women above the age of 35. Infertility may be due to female factor, male factor or a combination of factors that may prevent a pregnancy from occurring or continuing. Fortunately, there are many safe and effective therapies for overcoming infertility. These treatments (assisted reproductive technology) significantly improve the chances of becoming pregnant.

The heartbreak of infertility can be devastating. Causes of infertility or reproductive problems include disease and aging. Male infertility is as common as female infertility. Infertility or reproductive problems are often treatable with infertility drugs and high-tech procedures. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is a group of different methods used to help infertile couples. IVF is one such ART technique. IVF works by removing eggs from a woman’s body. The eggs are then mixed with sperm in petri dish in ivf laboratory to make embryos. The embryos are then put back in the woman’s body.

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a complex series of procedures used to treat fertility or genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child. The process involves monitoring a woman's ovulatory process, removing ovum or ova (egg or eggs) from the woman's ovaries and letting sperm fertilize them in a fluid medium in a laboratory. When a woman's natural cycle is monitored to collect a naturally selected ovum (egg) for fertilisation, it is known as natural cycle IVF. The fertilised egg (zygote) is then transferred to the patient's uterus with the intent to establish a successful pregnancy. Then the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted in the uterus. One cycle of IVF takes about two weeks. IVF is the most effective form of assisted reproductive technology. The procedure can be done using your own eggs and your partner's sperm. Or IVF may also involve eggs, sperm or embryos from a known or anonymous donor. In some cases, a gestational carrier (surrogate mother) — a woman who has an embryo implanted in her uterus — might be used.

IVF is a complex and expensive procedure and only about 5% of couples with infertility seek it out. IVF is never the first step in the treatment of infertility. Instead, it's reserved for cases in which other methods such as fertility drugs, surgery, and artificial insemination haven't worked. That means when other options for infertility treatment does not work, IVF is the option.

What Causes of Infertility Can IVF Treat?

A clinic or fertility specialist may recommend IVF as your best treatment option if you or your partner has been diagnosed with:

Endometriosis
Low sperm counts
Problems with the uterus or fallopian tubes
Problems with ovulation
Antibody problems that harm sperm or eggs
The inability of sperm to penetrate or survive in the cervical mucus
An unexplained fertility probe
A genetic disorder

If you have been unsuccessful with other techniques like using fertility drugs or intrauterine insemination (IUI) then also IVF is an option. If you're about to start cancer treatment — such as radiation or chemotherapy — that could harm your fertility, IVF for fertility preservation may be an option in that case.
Advantages and Disadvantages of In vitro fertilization (IVF) Treatment

For most children conceived by IVF there are no long-term problems. IVF can offer you a chance of having a baby if you are unable to conceive naturally, for example if you have blocked, damaged or missing fallopian tubes. Specific steps of an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle carry risks, including multiple births, Premature delivery and low birth weight, Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, Miscarriage, Egg-retrieval procedure complications, Ectopic pregnancy, Birth defects, Ovarian cancer and Stress.

Success rate of the IVF

The success rate of IVF depends on the age of the woman undergoing treatment as well as the cause of the infertility (if it's known). Younger women are more likely to have healthier eggs, which increases the chances of success. IVF isn't usually recommended for women above the age of 42 because the chances of a successful pregnancy are thought to be too low.

The birth of a test tube baby used to be a newsworthy event; now, some 25 years after America’s first, it is rarely ever mentioned in the press. With hundreds of thousands of test tube babies living in the world, in vitro fertilization (IVF) has become much more common. Yet the process is never routine, nor is a successful pregnancy guaranteed.
