Globally, cervical cancer is the second mostcommon cancer in women with approximately
5,00,000 cases annually and 350,000 deaths. Data from national cancer registries in India
indicate that cervical cancer is the most common
cancer/ cause of cancer related death in Indian
women. Approximately 1,32,000 cases occur
annually with 74,000 deaths. Indian women face a
2.5% cumulative lifetime risk of cervical cancer and
1.4% cumulative risk of death from cervical cancer.
Now every parent can gift her daughter on her 10th birthday or later the life long protection for cervical cancer with HPV vaccine.
