TOTAL STRESS MANAGEMENT AND NAMASMARAN (JAP, JAAP, JIKRA, SUMIRAN, SIMARAN; i.e. remembering God or true SELF) 11: DR SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
Patient: Sir! Last time you explained; why stress does not get noticed. Moreover; is it not true that the extent of stress is variable?
Doctor: Yes. The effects of stress vary in accordance with the individual’s perceptions, his/her homeostatic machinery (Homeostatic machinery exists right from the time of fertilization of ovum and sperm. It develops into several organs & tissues which work in a coordinated manner to keep the internal environment constant [within normal range] and the nature, intensity, frequency, duration and number of stressors acting at a time and the complexity of the stressors.
Patient: Do you mean to say that the extent of energy, passions, sensitivity, intelligence and perspective of an individual would determine the extent of stress?
Doctor: Yes! But besides all these; the actual physiological constitution (genotype and phenotype) also determine the effects of stress. All these are referred to as SANCHIT!
Patient: What is genotype and phenotype?
Doctor: Genotype is like seed, where the life is not expressed and phenotype is like a tree, where life is expressed.
Patient: Because of TV and internet the stimuli bombarding on our mind have multiplied in rapidity and complexity!
Doctor: Yes! As we have forgotten our true SELF, we have become disoriented caricatures of ourselves! We have become desperate to “achieve” petty personal gains!
Patient: So we ourselves add to the stressors in the form of spreading lies! Am I right?
Doctor: You said it! Hence NAMASMARAN is the reversal of the forgetfulness and disorientation of true SELF! It is the process of reversal of the root cause of stress!
Patient: So, do all these factors determine; the extent of stress and its effects on the life of an individual and the environment?
Doctor: Yes! Environment includes physical e.g. global warming, chemical e.g. pollution, biological e.g. mosquitoes, the family e.g. domestic violence, working place e.g. nepotism, society e.g. riots!
Patient: Sir! Now I am eager and keen to learn more about all this!
Doctor: Surely!
Patient; Sir! Please explain to me elaborately the root of cause of stress, why and how it is the greatest killer and also the greatest destroyer; and how to begin Total Stress Management!
Doctor: Surely! In fact this process of understanding is the first step in Total Stress Management; helping me also!
