RAW AND RIPE: DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKARStudent: How to reconcile the restlessness for completeness; with the fulfillment?
Teacher: This is akin to a mango. It is sour when raw. In the course of ripening by virtue of warmth; it becomes sweet.
Similarly, in the beginning, we are full of immature passions, feelings, thoughts, ambitions and aspirations. But deep inside there is a longing for completeness. Hence in spite of gratification our immature passions, feelings, thoughts, ambitions and aspirations, we still remain "sour" i.e. restless.
Just as warmth causes ripening of the mango, the NAMASMARAN, causes our "ripening" i.e. maturation. This leads to enrichment of our life with "sweetness" or fulfillment of innate aspiration of completeness and manifests in every activity of our life.
