Well-known Egyptian lawyer Khaled Abou Bakr filed a lawsuit against Army officials in that country who claimed last year they created a device that cures HIV and hepatitis C, reports MENAFN, the Middle East North Africa Financial Network.
The lawsuit demands an investigation into Major Ibrahim Abdel Atty El-Sayed, who is the first administrator of the so-called cure. The suit was submitted on the grounds that Army officials failed to deliver on their promise. Last March, the Army began taking applications from patients seeking a cure, but nothing has happened.
The lawsuit also seeks compensation for applicants who gave up their original treatment for what they thought would be a cure.
When Army officials announced they had a device to cure the diseases, they were met with skepticism from both the Egyptian and global scientific communities.
