MCI RECOGNITION OF NEW MEDICAL COLLEGE AGAINST BRIBE OF CRORES ALLEGED IN KERALA

MCI which will be replaced soon by a National Medical Commission through a bill which will be placed in this Mansoon Session of Parliament which has been cleared by Cabinet  as stated by Attorney General in Supreme Court while submitting a panel of five eminent Doctors of India as members of Oversight Committee for current year as Supreme Court consider that MCI is not fare and transparent while giving clearance to start MBBS course in New Medical College or Increase MBBS seats or start PG seats or increase its numbers.So The Highest Court want that MCI every decision should  be monitored by Oversight Committee this year too as in last year.

            Even this year few colleges has been given clearance but last Over Sight Committee comprised of Ex chief Justice of India has raised question on Such recognition as few Inspectors were sent 20 times in different private colleges against sanction of only 03 inspections per inspector.So if a fresh re inspection is done by a honest team, many letter of Permission may be revoked.This is the reason,this time too, SC refused Government interest of wiping out of Over Sight Committee to monitor MCI which has been called a  tainted body by Parliamentary Committee on health in past and its ex president was arrested by CBI accepting bribe in crores on charge of distributing recognition to Medical colleges against bribe in crores.

          Medical Colleges were selling MBBS for 50 to 1 crore and PG seat for 2-4 crores openly against their own manipulated entrance test which is now overruled by NEET examination by SC.Even today they will sell their NRI seats and other left out seats in crores,so in just one year earning of hundred crores will surpass investment of few crores .That is why so many applications for opening Medical colleges are lying in MCI as it is an industry of thousand crores profit.Such a lucrative business of profit earning in crores in few years is not present in other business and industry and it is all possible due to corruption only.

                        Recent breaking news  in Kerala that a BJP leader allegedly bribed Rs 5.60 cr for grant of MCI approval of a Medical College permission to already running dental college hospital raise serious question in mind of people that there is something wrong still present in Health ministry or MCI where still recognitions and permissions  are manipulated.A CBI enquiry has been ordered by present Kerala Government which if allowed to investigate freely without any Central government pressure and if truth comes otherwise then it will further lower down head of every doctor in India in shame as we Doctors are selected and elected members of MCI and how far we shall go for earning money inspite of so much criticism that we shall continue to recognise Medical Colleges with Ghost faculty,no patients in ipd,opd,ot and icu,or infrastructure of space,class room,good investigation tools and treatment facilities playing with future of Students and patients to run a black business of thousand crores and shall allow many tainted businessmen,indrustalists under protection of big politicians,bureaucrats and even judges tol open such colleges.

          A section of the media quoted the purported report of the BJP's internal committee( not of any body else or another political party or of Govrnment ) that claimed Rs 5.60 crore had been given to a party functionary for getting the approval of Medical Council of India (MCI) to the college in nearby Varkala.As per the report, a party worker and convener of its co- operative cell, had received the amount from a businessman, who runs the college.

     Leader of the Opposition in the assembly Ramesh Chennithala said reports had come out stating that bribe had been paid to BJP leaders for getting MCI sanction to the medical college and also for additional seats."What has come out is a widespread corruption involving state BJP leaders under the cover of BJP-led NDA government at the Centre," he alleged.Hitting hard at state BJP leaders, CPI-M veteran V S Achutanandan said the anti-graft image of the saffron party leaders had "burst like bubble" due to corruption charges.

                  But all these charges has been denied by State BJP president but its secretary accepted that some person met him in this regard but he told them that he cant help in this matter.

                        Whatever the truth may be but such allegation and counter defense raise serious question in mind of thousand students and Doctors who work so hard to be a Doctor and practice with honour and high head.It is a serious question as  why such news still make the space in our media when the highest Court of land has ruled that no more such black business in medical education can be accepted .

          It is a service if  good businessmen and industralists open Medical Colleges by donating their money to open good colleges to serve patients and produce good doctors,they are welcomed but for just earning white money in crores  through opening such colleges by investing their black money cant be accepted.Our Government should take stern action to send such owners of medical colleges in jail closing all such Medical Colleges which has got recognition on false and fabricated documents submitted to purchased MCI inspectors by ordering fresh inspections where fixed inspectors were sent this time too many Medical colleges against sanction inspection of only 03 Medical Colleges.MCI in ego derecognised all medical colleges which were given recogniton for few months by last oversight committe by conducting fresh inspections but never submitted its transparency in recognising new medical colleges or increasing MBBS seats or starting PG seats in Medical colleges by abiding rules and regulations.

           Will our PMO underleadership of our honest PM direct health ministry for reinspection of such Medical colleges granted permissions by MCI on Inspectors questioned by last Over sight Committee of SC to establish transparency and honesty in Medical education ? or Will we remain suffer from doubts of Corruption by such reports as happened in Kerala?
