AN US GIRL WITH ALBERT EINSTEIN'S HAIRS

A two-and-a-half year old girl named Jaili Lamb from the United States has bright white hair that is tangled and constantly stands on end. This is because she suffers from a rare genetic mutation called 'uncombable hair syndrome' that causes erratic hair. The condition is rumored to have also affected Albert Einstein.

According to a report in Daily Mail, her mother Sara Lamb has spent hundreds of dollars on around 20 hair products trying to flatten her daughter's frizz before they got the diagnosis. She read about twins with the syndrome and thought Jaili may have it.The little girl's parents sent their DNA samples to the Institute for Human Genetics at the University of Bonn last month.

And results revealed last week that Sara Lamb carries one of the three genes known to cause the condition. As per the reports, Andrew Messenger, professor of dermatology at the University of Sheffield, said, 'Uncombable hair syndrome is a rare inherited hair problem'.

A recent study has shown that the condition is due to alterations, known as mutations, in three genes involved in producing hair proteins. It is said that there is no medical treatment for uncombable hair syndrome, but it will improve with age.
