MCI secretary general resigns prematurely, new 'acting' head appointed,Is everything OK in this MCI ? or as usual MCI of past

The Secretary General of Medical Council of India (MCI) Sanjay Srivastava has resigned from the post although the health and family welfare ministry has not issued any clarification on the step.MCI, which is the the apex body that regulated medical education in the country, on its website had last updated the page on February 19 which has mentioned Prof. Siddarth Ramji taking over as the Acting Secretary General.

       A former deputy director general at the directorate general of health services (DGHS) Shrivastava, has been appointed the secretary general to assist the Board of Governance (BOG) last year which was formed by the government through an ordinance.The seven members in the BoG include three doctors from the AIIMS- Dr VK Paul (former HoD paediatrics and current member, Niti Aayog), Dr Randeep Guleria (director) and Dr Nikhil Tandon (professor endocrinology).

There are two other doctors -- Dr Jagat Ram (director-PGI Chandigarh) and Dr BN Gangadhar (director- National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences) -- and two ex officio members - Dr S Venkatesh (Director General of Health Services) and Dr Balram Bhargava (Director General- Indian Council of Medical Research).

    Government was unable to clear the MCI BILL  from Rajya Sabha after clearing it from Loksabha to form a National Medical Council to govern Medical treatment and education in country replacing old tainted MCI where many Medical colleges were given license to run to earn crores in few years by selling MBBS seats in 50-to 100 lacs and PG seats in 1-5 crores with Medical colleges where few faculty members present and mostly were arranged on day of inspection as Ghost Faculty,with few infrastructure of hospitals to treat hugh number of patients which were too arranged on day of inspection as normal persons having no serious complains were admitted on day of inspection,where number of patients treated in opd and treated,operated,investigated in indoor required for imparting Medical Education are fabricated and all facilities as ot,classrooms,instruments, library,pathological labs,radiological facilities etc  were on paper only and a set of inspectors were recognising colleges with vested interests only ignoring education,ate and future of Medical Students,Health and Medical Education in country.  

                     Government and Parliament Committee openly criticised  MCI and dissolved that MCI to be replaced b this NEW MCI run by eminent doctors of the country but IMA,Man Doctors,Many political parties and few media does not accept such MCI which they allege that this MCI with socalled BOG has been  formed by Government to take Medical Education and treatment in Government hand only.Charges of old MCI favouring recognition of some Medical Colleges with inferior infrastructure has been also alleged and suspected as there is involvement earning of crores in a single stake of getting recognition.

          Such early utimely resignation of MCI Secretary General Dr Shrivastava without an reason so far declared by him or announced by MCI or any member of BOG or Government suspect that everything might not well or ok in this MCI too as it is governing a black  industry of thousand crores in name of Medical Education forgetting ever basic ethics of Humanity  where frauds are accepted and practiced to endanger Human Life as less equipped Medical College are recognised and licensed to earn hudred crores in a session purely on merit of power and money to produce only quacks.

                   As reported by INAS news agency, Despite multiple approaches to Paul, Dr Tandon and S. Venkatesh, none of the BoG members were ready to speak on the matter.Government must clarify as why he has resigned or he himself being serving country on such a high reputed  post  should issue a clarification of his untimely resignation otherwise it will be a blow to many doctors,medical students as dent or doubt or fight in MCI cant be accepted as we saw open fight in media in Supreme Court,CBI CVC etc as these are important pillars of our Democracy.
