Clinical trials are the back bone of developing new drugs, devices & therapies. Without doing clinical trials showing safety & efficacy no drug can be marketed & it should not be.
In Madhypradesh specially in Indore this crucial research segment is made controversial by media & govt. is also not taking proper move in this direction to protect research work in M.P.
Gujarat is promoting Clinical Research as growing industry & providing all the facilities to Companies & CROs to boost this industry in State.
Till recent years all the clinical trials were being done in USA & other European Countries because US-FDA and other European regulators trust & approve trials in their country but since last few years DCG(I) made it compulsory to do trials in India if thet want to market any product in Indian market tham MNCs started trials in India & needless to say Indian Investigators did excellent & most ethical work in this field & made our place in clinical trial market. Now India became the Hub for clinical research because of various plus points here. At present we are ahead of China in this field & earned a good reputation in world in this field.
The persons making this research work controversial can think of consuming any drug whose efficacy & safety is not proved on human Subjects? They are also utilizing most modern drugs available in our market but they never thought that how these drugs developed & where they were tested?
If we do not cooperate in developing of new drugs than our future generation will not forgive us.
I always support prohibiting unethical trials any where but we should think & must promote the ethical work being done in our country otherwise we will loose a lot.
I urge MP government to quickly act & decide something concrete to check such unfortunate controversy & blackmailing practices. We can see the example of Gujarat & can learn from them in this regard. This is a self growing industry & Govt. should regulate it to promote ethical work only to save the wrights ,safety & well-being of trial participants & industry to give good revenue to the state as well.
I appreciate readers comments on this issue.
