Dr. Sapna Nangia specialises in the treatment of cancer using modern radiotherapy techniques that deliver radiation accurately and protect normal organs from the ill effects of radiation. She did a five year short stint in the Army after completing her MBBS from AFMC Pune. Subsequent to release from the army, she specialised in Radiation Oncology from SGPGI, Lucknow.

She has been an observer at Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Centre (MSKCC), New York (USA), Moores Cancer Centre, USCD, San Diego (USA) and Albert Einstein-Montefiore Cancer Centre, New York (USA) over the years.

She has attended various courses conducted by European Society of Therapeutic Radiology & Oncology (ESTRO), TMH Mumbai, etc to keep herself updated with the latest advances in the field of radiation oncology.

Before joining Apollo Cancer Institute, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, Dr Nangia was Chief Radiation Oncologists at International Oncology Centre, Fortis Hospital Noida . Dr. Nangia also had worked in Batra Hospital, Delhi where - a) she started the IMRT programme in 2002 with resultant large body of work and publications in journals of repute. b) was instrumental in commissioning the HDR brachytherapy . c) was instrumental in successful establishment of post graduate programme in Radiotherapy(DNB) ,d) was instrumental in commissioning of second Linear Accelerator.

At International Oncology Centre, Fortis Hospital, Noida Dr Nangia was part of the team that has established a sophisticated new radiotherapy department offering state of the art radiotherapy including Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) with Respiratory Gating, Intensity Modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), PET-CT based planning, Stereotactic Radiotherapy, RapiArc and 3D planning based HDR brachytherapy
