Dr. Pavan Kumar did his superspecialization in cardiovascular surgery (1982 – 85) from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He received further training and experience for many years in the field of coronary bypass surgery and complex cardiac procedures at Karolinska Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden.
He further gained invaluable experience at the Harefield Hospital, Harefield, London, UK in homograft surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, heart & heart lung transplantation. On his return in 1988, he joined as Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at the Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. In 1992 he moved to Mumbai, where he joined P.D. Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai as Consultant Cardiac Surgeon & Unit Head.
