Sortey Hospital & RC was started in 1993, as a speciality centre for Laparoscopic Surgery for General, Gynaecological & Infertility coverage, as a First of its kind in Central India.
Dr Devendra Sortey is General & Laparoscopic Surgeon & (Wife) Dr Kanchan Sortey is Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgeon, trained from Mumbai.
We introduced Laparoscopic Hernia surgery in this area in 1995 & then 3 Dimensional Mini-open hernia repairs using Prolene Hernia System (2003) & our own Sutured- Polypropylene Hernia System in 2004, which works out to be quite cheaper than commercially available PHS. Thus this technique of provising 3 D repair of all types of anterior wall hernias, is made easy, comfort provider to patients & at the same time, cheaper or affordable to the masses. We have the experience of 350 hernia repairs by using our own prosthesis which is one of the largest experience.
